This past week we had plans to run on Thursday night at 141 Speedway and on Saturday night at The Hill Raceway. Mother Nature had other plans and we ended up racing double duty on Friday night at Luxemburg Speedway along with our trip to 141 on Thursday.
Thursday night started out well for us, as we challenged for the lead throughout the heat race before finishing in the 2nd spot to Kevin Bethke. We drew the 6th starting spot for the feature and unfortunately struggled for the entirety of the race, falling back and crossing the line in 7th. However, a disqualification in post-race tech officially put us as the 6th place finisher.
On Friday I raced in both the IMCA northern sportmod and stock car divisions, piloting my dad’s stock car after jumping out of my sportmod. After finishing 5th in my heat race in the sportmod, I started 5th in the feature and made the charge toward the front. Running in 3rd, I got under Cody Rass to take away the runner-up spot, and then with a few laps remaining got under Troy DeGrave to take away the lead and win our 4th feature win of the year and our 1st feature win at Luxemburg since the Dairyland Duel special to end the 2016 season.
After the win, I jumped into the stock car and started in the 10th position and rode around to end up finishing in 8th for my first time being in the car.
We have a busy schedule of racing coming up as we’re going to be at Luxemburg on Friday, 141 on Saturday and then a quick turnaround to race on Monday night at Plymouth and also on Thursday night at The Hill before returning to Luxemburg and 141 the following weekend.
