We took the trip to 141 Speedway on Friday night, as Luxemburg Speedway was off because of an RV show. I started 6th in my heat, with the top 5 transferring to the feature. On the start, I was stopped by Andy Ratajczak on the frontstretch, stalling my car. I re-fired and managed to salvage a 6th place finish.
I started on the pole for the semi-feature, and Ricky Mott took the lead on the start. I ran in 2nd place throughout the race, transferring to the feature. We missed the setup for the feature, as my car had not enough rear steer and too much air pressure for the track condition. I started 17th and finished 17th.
Then on Saturday, we went up to Sturgeon Bay for the 4th time this season. I started on the pole for my heat, and immediately the car started pushing in the corners. I hung around in 4th for the majority of the heat, but pushed up bad out of turn 2 and let Randy LeMieux & Brad Theys by. I finished in 6th place.
I started 16th on the grid for the feature, and quickly made a move to the inside of Kelsy Hayes. I felt my car rub on her door, and my right rear went flat, sending me spinning into the infield. Luckily for me, a caution came out for another incident, and the crew got my tire changed in time for the restart.
Coming from the back, the car handled the best it has all year. I never had to tap the brake to make it turn, so we’re finally getting the setup in the right direction. I wound up finishing in the 14th position.
Next race on the schedule is Friday at Luxemburg, with the possibility of 141 on Wednesday or Thunderhill on Saturday.
