For the first time this season, we ran 3 nights during a week. The first stop was at 141 Speedway on Wednesday night. In my heat, I had some handling issues caused by a busted shock mount on the left rear. I picked up some shock tips from Troy Jerovetz before the feature, and gained 11 spots in the feature, coming from 20th to finish 9th. That is the best feature finish so far for me this season.
On Friday night at Luxemburg, I finished 7th in my heat, giving me a decent starting spot in the semi-feature (6th). They were taking the top 5 for the feature, and through all the chaos I was able to nail down that final transfer spot, minus the left side door. I started 20th in the feature, and was able to pick my way slowly to a 15th place finish on the night. My best feature finish of the year at Luxemburg so far.
Last night, we made the trip to Thunderhill and it wasn’t a good night. After the heat race the new oil pan was leaking, but nothing serious. However, in the semi-feature I was sent down pit lane for leaking fuel. I think that may have been my fault not getting the cap on straight and it was leaking out of the top of the cell. The power steering hose blew out again so it was only a matter of time before I was headed to the pits anyway.
Next stop will be at 141 on Sept. 1st, then Luxemburg on the 3rd and Seymour on the 5th.
